"Indooroopilly" was originally built in 1981, by writer/ poet Barbara Blackman  (previously married to artist Charles Blackman) and her second husband, philosopher Marcel Veldhoven.

Marcel and Barbara built “Indooroopilly”, named after the Brisbane suburb where she grew up, as a nurturing retreat.  It was their “salon in the scrub”. A place to share ideas and celebrate life with family and friends.

The 105 acre property sits atop Berry Mountain just 2 hours drive south of Sydney. Berry Mountain lies between the historic villages of Berry (10 minutes) and Kangaroo Valley (15 minutes).

The original part of the home was hand built and integrates a tapestry of textures such as mud & straw, bush rocks and local timbers.  The unique roofline, handmade tiles and bespoke touches make "Indooroopilly "one of the most interesting and individual properties in the area.

The property consists of the main house plus an additional cottage.

The main house has been renovated and now consists 5 bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms plus an additional 2 toilets, kitchen, lounge and dining.  The large yurt has been joined to the main house and is the perfect games room, consisting of bar area, stage, pool table, cable TV and juke box!

Sleeps – 8-10 adults plus 6 children (bunks)

The cottage is situated 50m from the main house and consists of 2 bedrooms (one loft style with private balcony - views) and lounge/kitchen and a unique bathroom facing the bush.

Sleeps – 4 adults

Perfect for family getaways, friends get togethers and business meetings.

The property regularly hosts yoga, artistic retreats, and is used as a base for walking and bird watching groups.

 The ambience is overwhelmingly unique.
